Did you know that travelling actually impacts a lot more things than just your pocket?
When we travel by air, we end up exploiting tonnes of fuel. I am sure we all will agree that we are under tremendous pressure of climate change and consuming that much fuel adds to our worry regarding air pollution and geopolitical risk.
Another contributing factor to this massive air pollution is the fact that trees are being cut all over the world to compensate for our travels and we don’t really need to remind each there how devastating that will be for the air around us. Look at what happened in Brazil!
Water too is under a heavy strain because all the plastic we produce and consume is released into clean streams of water which end up being consumed by the fish. Needless to say, someday all that plastic will find a way in your systems too.
Talking about personal cost, while travelling we end up utilising a portion of our money which otherwise could have been put to much better use.
And how can we forget the amount of time that goes into travelling? All that lost time, that can never be recovered.
Another thing that can never be recovered is lost opportunity. Say, we travel to Italy, but we don’t have enough resources to experience Italy in the way we really want to. Won’t that be an absolute shame because we might never get a chance to visit Italy again!
